Kocsis vs Ranki

Ranki seems a little more delicate

It's not fair to compare the tenderloin to the innards.

I just compared them in Mikrokosmos Bk 5 No 136, "whole tone scale"

Their touch is very different, Kocsis more percussive. kocsis also gives the impression of more hotheaded impulsiveness. They really have not much in common here, their perception of the music is so different.

I guess my whole reason here was with the Bartok. We all know how acclaimed Kocsis's set is, but then I heard some samples from Ranki's Stravinsky recital, and he sounded so delicate in that music, so then I noticed these two... anyhow, I didn't know I had stumbled onto a controversy!! :o
