Hello everyone!

As you can see from my username, i am into brass bands but not only that, I have a great many cds in my collection of classical music. My favourite of fabvourites  is J S Bach and Handel. As far as gernality is concerned, I do rather like British and Amerrican 29th Century, which i have focused my collection on mainly, although, looking at it, you wouldn't think so, ranging from Elizabethan composers to present day.

I play tuba and piano(not at the sametime, I hasten to add!! ::)). I am also activbely involved in a band as well. UK people may have heard of Brighton & Hove City Brass, in  West sussex, UK, for our overeseas friebds here. I have also had played by the world renowned Black Dyke Band, a couple of arrangements of music by Snhostakovich(Finale from Symphony no.5) and Britten (Four sea Interludes). I have been playing music since I was 9 years old(now 52!).

I hope to have a good time on these boards, like I also do on R3OK -Index as well.

Welcome BBM (this may become your nickname!) -  ;) ;D

Now quoting "I do rather like British and Amerrican 29th Century" - I would love to hear the music from that futurisic time!  :D

Welcome aboard and looking forward to your contributions!   :)

Thank you people! Most people call me BBM for a shortened version of my name. I have actually been mentioned on BBC Radio 3 a couple of times under this name. Once with Andrew MacG on CD Review and the other by Rob Cowan.

Sorry about the typos there! British 20th Century, ofocurse! Oops!

Welcome, BBM! The tuba, eh? One of Havergal Brian's favourite intruments and for which he can write very imaginatively. And Brian lived in Shoreham, of course...

Welcome aboard, BBM! I recently enjoyed an incidental outdoor 'concert' by a school brass-band in the University campus, here in Edinburgh. :)
