Thanks for interesting replies (Linda Ronstadt  ::)). Colin, I'd agree about the Hickox VW London Symphony - difficult to imagine how I would do without that.

If you're good, you can come to my side of the island.

Great idea - then each of us would essentially have 18 recordings.

edit - 16 recordings.  Sometimes, things don't add up.

I could take the Bernstein box set instead of 6/8 and 7/9/10, and we could add one.

Oh, I do like Linda. Very, very much.
Same here. The first album I ever bought as a 14 year old was Ronstadt's Prisoner in Disguise. I still buy every new release.
Martha doesn't signal when the orchestra comes in, she's just pursing her lips.

Her take on Blue Bayou is a classic.

And I thought I was the only person who loved the Bolet/Schumann.  Good show!

MOFI put out the best-sounding CD of PRISONER IN DISGUISE last year, and is supposed to be releasing similar versions of HASTEN DOWN THE WIND (my favorite) and SIMPLE DREAMS this year.

The rest of the album (SIMPLE DREAMS) is quite good, too.

Hey, it could work someday Dave.  Maybe they'll create this high compression disc technology that can fit all of a composer's oeuvre on one disc.  ;D

Oh, how I love that performance.  That disc is truly one of my favorites in my whole collection.

I have that one, too. That's my least favorite of her Asylum albums, though.

Don't worry, Vandermolen. I'll stick to classical. ;)
Impossible job of course, but these are the first that came to mind just now.

Yes, I agree with that. That one and the self-titled album are nevertheless her best pre-Heart Like a Wheel albums though. In my opinion anyway.
