the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Alicia Keys is someone who I keep going in and out of enjoying.  I think I enjoy the idea of Alicia more than I actually like what is excecuted.  I especially think if she could dump the hip hop posturing grunts and uhhs and that stuff it would be for the best.  I also think somehow a lot of the stuff seems just shy of really good but empty at the same time.  I dunno I keep listening to her though so I guess I keep hoping for her to do something.  I think she can be a great live performer.....

Bold pick in that batch Sarge....

"hip hop posturing" ....yes, I agree. You know, I picked that album based almost entirely on the strength of "Fallin'"...a song I love, and a song that made me think she could be a new Aretha, a true Soul goddess in the 60s mold. Unfortunately she hasn't lived up to that song's promise. Still hoping.

She does nothing for me.

Though Bob Dylan did mention her in lyrics on his last record.  ;D
