Anybody home?  Why do things get so quiet starting around 8PM eastern?  Not many west coast members I guess, and the rest actually have a night life.  Oh well.

imperfection

I'm a Vancouverite, about as west coast as it gets, almost falling off the continent into the Pacific Ocean.

It is already early Saturday morning in the UK and Holland, where a couple of members live ...

i'm bringing robt. johnson's lost blues tune tonight...on a scratchy 78 rpm...as well as some rockabilly.  also got some pin ups of hilary hahn and that trumpet chick, alison  balsam.
looking forward to a night of debauchery when the genteel among us sign off.

If I am on first thing Sat morning UK time, quite often it is me, Que and perhaps two others. Then, occasionally, I detect one or two from the US clearly having trouble sleeping.

It's partially explained by the fact that many formum members reside in Europe. 8PM eastern = 1AM and 2AM.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Then we have the UK undead who are up at all hours.   ;D

Last, year, during my first year of college, I usually slept from 2.30-9.30 a.m., which meant I would be up posting in the "What Are You Listening To?" thread all by myself from 1 to 2, at which point the Europeans would begin to arrive. Usually when Que got there and posted "Good morning!" I took it as a sign that I had stayed up too late, and hurried to bed.  ;D

My unemployed son is busy turning day into night. If he was interested on the music we discuss here, he would be our Brit Night-Owl.

Yep, that's us - the British branch of GMG on their annual jolly. (I never understood why Guido decided to wear that dress...)
