I think it's quite healthy to refresh your ears by listening to other genres of music.

So Dave, my last night in New Orleans a little over a week ago, I heard slide guitarist Jeremy Lyons & The Deltabilly Boys , i.e., Greg Schatz on doublebass and Paul Joseph Santopadre on drums.  (Lyons moved from New Orleans to Boston after Katrina, but makes the occasional trip back.)  Liked them so much I bought not one, but four of their CDs--all live performances including two taped at JazzFest in 2005 and 2006.

You would probably love these guys...just a Tuesday non-classical recommendation.  :D

I'm pretty much not not listening to classical.

But right now I'm listening to Gram Parsons' Grevious Angel, so I guess there's hope.
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

GP. Good stuff.

Yeah. I like music, actually. Pretty weird for an audiophile.

I guess I don't find any one genre completely satisfying. I need all of them...apparently.  ;D
Honestly, that's awesome.

Most of my non-classical phases only last a day or two, now. Haven't had one in a while. It's been driving my friends and family crazy.  ;D

If you get the Bob Dylan album, tell me how it is. Penn Jillette (comedian) has been going bonkers raving about how great it is (on Twitter).

Have you heard him lately?

I'm not into anything non-classical.

That's OK, we're still neighbors (or neighbours ;D), right Dave?

*Could you please turn down the music, I can't hear my Tchaikovsky symphony.  ;D
