It had a wreck-on-the-highway quality I couldn't quite resist, I suppose.

This kind of attraction is at the basis of virtually all forum disruptions. Folks come and watch what the idiot says, out of some form of Schadenfreude, and a scathing comment is posted before you think about it. As a consequence those idiotic threads usually are the longest on the board. Used to happen here, too.

In any case, I didn't join the other forum. Once or twice reading stuff like that is more than enough.

The new erato

I just wish some of the more "problematic" posters could keep their UserIds so it would be easier to avoid them completely. With each renaming I have to go through the same learning experience anew.

Well, (not that you are not perfectly free to do as you wish and for whatever reasons may please you) you're dismissing an entire forum based on one ill-fashioned user.

Witness the "Mozart Newman is a fraud" thread.

Me, too.  But that's why they change IDs, I suppose, once most members have learned to avoid their blather.

Whatever happened to Mr Petterson yes, Beethoven no  -  Paul Best?

I remember he was part of Katrina, but did he ever resurface on GMG?

DavidRoss

Yes.  He relocated (to Arkansas?) and since then has seldom surfaced, but he does pop in on very rare occasion.  Perhaps he got a girlfriend...?

I just wish he'd change his avatar.  Clowns scare me.

I had to resist putting up an image of Pennywise from IT. Pretty good of me, eh?

Don't know that one but I looked it up.  Looks like John Wayne Gacy, eh?  Whenever I see a post by Mel's evil clown alter ego, Iago, I imagine something like this:

I thought he was a really old guy... so probably not...

It's hard to imagine someone so obviously psychotic finding a girlfriend.

Oh yes, they do. :D I was just wondering if it was a war-of-words thing or if he was just pulling a Dave (MN).

...you really were a goner?   :o    0:)

Would somebody contact us?  Have you "made arrangements" for this with your funeral director?

If I remember right, he used to deregister randomly without notice and reregister all the time. I don't think he's done that for awhile now.

First of all, psychotic is a bit harsh. secondly, who says psychotic is only a male trait?  ;)
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.
