Or maybe he's just telling the truth. Who knows?

Maybe Hitler was right too.  All he wanted was peace, once he eliminated the Jews and took over Europe.  What a noble, enlightened goal.  ??? Look, Israel is our greatest ally in the middle east and does not pose an ideological threat to the western world.  All peoples and nations sponsor injustices to some degree or another, but you have to draw the line somewhere and choose your friends despite their flaws.

Very good, undutchie!  Sad thing is that there are probably millions of Americans who agree with you and don't know the difference between fact and fiction...and most of them vote!

You're right of course, however, the millions who cant tell the difference between fact and fiction preferred the fiction of an intelligent, wise and benevolent Bartlett to the cold reality of Bush.
On a related note, I think the advocacy for torture of suspected terror suspects in Gitmo was heavily pushed by the makers of 24. The programme makers knew what they were doing. People, even intelligent people, are gently swayed into believing the lie.

My favorite is the story about a friend saying to Coolidge, "I bet ten bucks I can get you to say three words or more." And Coolidge said, "You lose."

Yeh, that's a great one too, Brian ;D

Including his criticism of Israel?

While I have always been supportive of Israel, its occasional use of excessive forces against civilians do turn me off ...

That's hard to avoid when Muslim fighters are embedded in the civilian areas.

Hehe, I guess that some right wing US commentators need to be reminded of this...
