I'm looking for companions for going to the opera with in London.  I thought it would be a good idea to split the price of a box between four at the Covent Garden, what do you think?

Anyone?  Come on!  Well go to Alban Berg's Lulu, comfort ourselves in a £400 box shared by four.  Or do you want La Traviata or Lohengrin or the Elixir of Love?  Tell me!

Sounds great and I would, if I were in the area :'(. I'd really like to see the Berg ...

Me, too.  I'm thinking about going to the Met revival in May 2010.

I'd love to.  I was just looking at info on the production a few days ago.  But I doubt I could get away, and even if I could, I've never been out of the U.S.  :-[ (except for a trip to Mexico when I was in high school), so I don't have a passport, and I think it's a bit late to try to get one now.

Yes, passports take much time to obtain.  Four months before going to Europe a couple of years ago, both my wife and I applied for passports.  We received them just the day before the flight, only after using the services of a New Mexico Senator to get them on time.  I blamed Bush for the whole thing and am very glad he's now just another moron in Texas.

I've had a little correspondance with my Senators (Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby) over the years, and I doubt they'd be disposed to help me.   ;D

Four months?! That's extravagantly long. And we're complaining about our bureaucracy, when it only takes a few days to get a passport.

What on Earth has the US President got to do with issuing passports? Does he personally review and approve (or reject) every claim? Four months! This is utterly absurd and I concur to Tasos .
