If you want to hear some symphonies that I feel are eerily Haydnesque, I recommend any of Leopold Hofmann's 50 or so symphonies. The five ones that I am familiar with are on the Naxos label with the Northern Chamber Orchestra. Although I prefer listening to works recorded on authentic instruments, the NCO sound is not too soupy. Having only 24 members also helps to keep the sound more pristine than a larger ensemble could accomplish. These symphonies are delightful diversions.

Unfortunately I haven't heard Hofmann's symphonies but I have 4 discs of his concertos (Violin, Cello, Flute and Oboe) on Naxos label. Leopold Hofmann was a mighty composer. I have to purchase that one symphony release soon.  0:)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.
