After months of searching long and hard and scrimping and having to go on food stamps, it looks like I will soon get the job I have been praying for.  I am so exhausted, but look forward to getting off the government dole.

Congratulations.  I hope you get it and it turns out to be a greater blessing that you dared hope for.

Great news! Congrats.  :)

The searching-and-waiting can be so draining. Great news about the job and I hope things start looking up now :).

Jo Jo; I understand you perfectly. I'm looking for a job for five years
without luck. My problem is that I'm 67 years old, and here in Buenos Aires, if you are older than 45, you are as good as dead.

I am almost 50 and the issue is almost the same here in the US (at least from what I have experienced at times).  I hope you get something soon.

BTW, I officially got the call and an official offer is coming via email later this afternoon.

Excellent (seconded)!  What will you be doing?

Director of International Students.  One drawback, though.  I will have to rent a small apartment in another city for at least 2 years.  That is a small issue, though.  A job at what I love doing.

Are you married and if so will you have to be separated from your wife?

Can you sell something on a street module like in other latinamerican countries?

Congratulations.  All the best and do report back.

From me too. Good luck!

On a street in Buenos Aires? Sure, but you need something to sell, money for a permission, money for the police...and besides, it's as save as to sell in a Tijuana street. For a retired lawyer, it's a little difficult.

I'm tired of being an employee at 37 y.o, I'm looking to sell something on the street, maybe I'll put a "puesto de tacos".

Here in California farm country, "taco wagons" can be very profitable businesses, especially on the outskirts of farm towns during planting and harvest seasons.

Which school is that? Maybe Vanessa can send some of her high school graduates your way.
