Agree.  Like no one should question why I have 20+ versions of Brandenburg Concertos ....  It is my business ...

I would like to ask, why you haven´t but 20+ versions. 0:)
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Do ticket purchases to concerts and the opera go here, too? :)

Valentino

My music library hard discs go here, so why not?

Capitalizing on the NaxosDirect $2.99 sale. All these discs were $2.99 each (even the multiCDs and SACD) and shipping was free:

The Spohr and Suk discs look interesting - I'll await your comments when you have time to listen to them :) It turns out that I have the Isasi disc in the Spanish 25 CD box, but I was too lazy to check it for you at the time :(

All looks well on that purchase, George, but the Mozart does raise an eyebrow at this end.
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

I've not heard any of his Mozart, but I bet it's great. I know they used a reduced sized orchestra.

This is a must hear then, George:

Thanks a lot, I was trying to keep from going Kempff-crazy, but I guess it's already too late.   ;D

A choice that shows wisdom & discrimination. And one that will bring you much joy.

But note that in Germany--and within a few weeks/months in the US--the complete Haydn String Quartets* with the Quatuor Mosaiques have been/will be issued in two money (but not space)-saving boxes.

Given the strong Euro, they're not much cheaper in Germany, come to think of it.

* By "complete" I mean the complete quartets that the QM recorded... not ALL of Haydns Quartets (yet).

IIRC it's the cadenzas in concerto 15? I haven't listened to this set in a long while. I  bought it for the Beethoven concertos. The Schumann and Liszt are good, but the Brahms lacks heft. I should dig into it for a rerun...

If you can wait until mine arrives (a week a most), it might be cool to compare notes.  :)

Good. Let me know what you listen to and I'll do the same  :D
