VERY good point. I absolutely agree.  :)

Also true, assuming that said friend does not have a weird attachment to liner notes.  :-\

I suffer for my liner notes! ;D

I was hoping to escape to the end of the month without making any more purchases, but then there was the next instalment of the Hyperion bottom ten sale. I listened to a lot of samples. Several times. I realised that there was nothing there that I would ever be likely to pay full price for, but there were a couple of things that I'd quite like to try on for size at £4.80. So I bought two.

So now I've exceeded my music-spending budget for the month, proving myself to be a man of feeble will power. It's the beginning of the end. And I can't even come clean about what I bought, because if I do, Lethe will shake her head and question the wisdom of building up a sub-collection of milk-and-watery music that nobody wants ....

It's a vale of tears and no mistake.

The easiest way to not exceed your music budget is to simply not set one! :D

And if you do it enough, you'll forget about this one more quickly! ;D

Spend my way out of my personal recession, you mean? I like the sound of that. It could be good economic sense ...

Y'see, folks? Where else on the planet can you get good solid advice like this from people of renowned music-buying expertise, who know, and who care?

I feel better already.

DavidW

Yes!  As Eric is fond of saying (perhaps after a hedonistic Debussy binge) pleasure is the law! ;D

Since being assigned to your route, this post office lady must have become more muscular by the day.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

If it's the documentary which I think it is, I saw a part of it on TV. But it was in German. :( And I missed the English re-run.

Oh, the Hyperion bottom ten sale will be the ruin of me. I took a look today and sure enough it was a new batch of ten, and there are some CDs there that I'd pay money not to own, but my goodness, what is this doing there?

I didn't even know this existed. It must surely be in the bottom ten because no one actually knows about its existence? Rameau - magnifique, mes braves! Carolyn Sampson - qui chante comme un oiseau, n'est ce pas? This is my third listening to the samples - it's simply irresistible, and they're virtually giving these away. Dammit, this ought to be in their top ten sellers.

Hyperion, I salute you. Overspent I may be, but you're welcome to my £4.80 for this.

First impressions: I'm gonna be happy with this purchase! :)

Well I am so glad you feel that way George.  I recently picked up this set up and have yet to listen to it:

My guess is the 2-fer Decca set that Sarge bought is included in this.
