George,  You must be quite happy with every CD you have gotten from Marston Records to make this commitment ...

That is correct. I also like the idea of supporting the superb work that they are doing. I haven't heard a bum disc yet and their customer service is excellent.

I am partial to Newbury if it has the goods ...

Good bargain for 75 cents.

What a great composer.  My attempted atonal ventures almost ended yesterday after listening to Flourescences by Penderecki, but after listening to Varese I realized I had started from the wrong end of the 20th century (aka you don't go backwards, you go forwards).  The Naxos CD helps me understand the progression of ideas too, from Arcana which is hardly more radical than Stravinsky to Deserts in its taped complete.

I know. Sarge got me a sweet Richter avatar, but I changed it to avoid confusion. Don't quote me on this, but I may have found a permanent avatar, in case that makes things easier.

How much was the Pires, Stuart?

$16.97 plus $11.97 for the Brahms Piano Trios, which has been on my shopping list for a while.  The best price for the Pires 2-CD set is $15.14 at Market Place.  Since I get free shipping, this is a pretty good deal.

My Curtis' Handel opera set costs almost $10 to ship.  It must be weighty.
