Life is easier when you are beautiful, isn't it?

Yes. Yes, it is.  ;D

Had to order through an amazon seller, as my local store was sold out.

Yeah, might be the last time I walk in there. I suddenly realized that I can buy new CDs for much less online.

Just walked out of my local Borders store 2 hours ago with the following CD's for $2.06, after a 40% discount on the SACD of John Sheppard's Media vita and 3 other CD's and blew away 2 gift cards from past Christmas.  There is just one small section left at the store for classical music - what a pathetic sight ...    :(

The LP of this Adrian Boult recording was the first Handel Messiah I bought close to 30 years ago.

It is still a valuable b&M source.  Remember that Aldo Ciccolini's set that was not available at any US-based etailers?  I got the set at JandR for $40 before tax at your suggestion ...

Border's: I blew alot of bucks out there just because I felt like I had to buy out of a store for "shopping's sake" or whatever.

Never again, for books or cds.

Looking forward to this one alot.

I went there just to use up those gift cards.  I rarely buy CD's from b&m stores ...

If you can catch those 40% off sales at Borders, you can get some superb deal.  I got a HM SACD at $20 list for $12 today.

Dave, is that what you chose for your itunes purchase? :)

:P

Those same discounts are available through Borders.com; the thing to be wary of is that Borders is much more likely to carry stuff on back order than Barnes and Noble or Amazon.

The Stile Antico disc, btw, would be well worth it even if you paid full list price.  (Same for their other CDs).

I am sure if I were to visit the same Borders store in a year, assuming it is still open, there will be no classical section left in the music department.  When I last visited over a year ago, there were still 2 aisles of bins ...

Oh I see now!  Wow!  Well I bought two things-- that Alfven symphony for a $1 and a cd of Pendrecki chamber music as was rec'd by Velemir on the Pendrecki thread. :)  I hope it stands up to the third symphony, love that sucker!!

I see you use the same criteria to buy CDs as I do  :D

Sarge - I don't own that CD w/ Wendy Warner, but find that picture quite alluring -  :P

Another one below w/ the cello not obscuring some interesting anatomical details of this performer -  ;) ;D  Dave
