Davey, you're whole hog for Harnoncourt! : )

Last night I also listened to the Opus 93, and even the Choral Fantasy . . . which remains second- or third-tier Beethoven, but is now revealed as entirely pleasant in its own modest way.

I haven't listened to the Choral Fantasy in along time. I agree that it's not top tier Beethoven, but a charming bon-bon nonetheless. :)

Went ahead and bought Bedford's recording of The Jungle Book. I knew the drawbacks going into this recording (i. e. applause -- it's a live recording), but I'm anxious to hear a different cycle than Zinman's and Segerstam's isn't that well-played, so it will interesting to hear this rare recording:

Just bought:

I've heard these were definitive performances of these two symphonies. I have a composer friend who's big into Elgar who directed me towards these recordings. I generally like Boult, so it should be good. Anybody else own this? Any thoughts?

I went for something I have wanted for a while but held off - until I saw that MDT was having a sale on cpo recordings:

LOEWE, CARL Lieder & Balladen. Complete Edition Vol. 1-21. Julie Kaufmann, Edith Mathis, Gabriele Rossmanith, Ruth Ziesak. CPO

Overall - it is a wonderful set. I've gotten many hours of enjoyment out of it and hope you will as well. I think you mean this cover though:
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

A £1 find - the rest on Amazon costs a lot. I think it's a sign, if a composer's (Koechlin) second-hand prices are high, then the demand is obviously there.
Peanut butter, flour and sugar do not make cookies. They make FIRE.

Good day, Harry! You've shed the Ilyich, I see . . . hope that betokens that your log-in troubles are over!

Yes I did, somehow I could not get used to this name, so log in problems or not, I returned to my old name.
Good day to you too my friend.

Excellent! Enjoy my friend! If you like this recording, do try to pick up the other two Rozhdestvensky-led recordings.

Had, complained about, and sold Rhinegold from this series, but picked up the entire cycle with a 50% off coupon from Borders.  It's on backorder so who knows if I'll ever get it, though.

Wow awesome Antoine thanks! I love those performers... that's perfect!  Ordered. :)

As a collector, and admirer, of Biondi's Vivaldi recordings I had to buy this:
