Do you know if this is available from a European dealer?
It will cost me a fortune to get it from the US (import tax and all that).  >:(

Unfortunately the European Amazon sites don't work for me right now: I'm getting nothing but errors. >:(
I remember though that it was available on Amazon.fr for around 90 euro. Maybe this link is still working for you?

One of the greatest recordings of all-time. Brilliant performances.

If the music is as lovely as the cover-art, then I may need to get this.  :D

You haven't heard Suk's music, Greg? Man, you're in for a real treat. :)

If you can get a recording originally released on L'oiseau Lyre brand-new at a good price, get it.  New L'oiseau Lyre recordings are increasingly difficult to find, as the label appears to have been phased out by UniversalMusic.  I treasure all my L'oiseau Lyre recordings, on LP, CD and open-reels.

I found it on sale this morning at Arkiv for $15.99, so I ordered it.  I hope it's not an error or something--when I looked yesterday or the day before, they were pricing it at $31.99.

It will fit in the nicely with the Rousset Naive box,  which I also ordered this morning from B&N with a coupon that brought it below the Amazon Marketplace price.

Thanks, Marc, this link works excellent for me.

BTW I was not aware that it was that expensive, so I probably need to do a run-up to order it.

Getting into some Minimalism, Conor? Cool, that Steve Reich/John Adams disc with Edo de Waart is great. Are these your first purchases of this kind of music?

I have some Arvo Part and Reich's Music For 18 Musicians in my collection so I have a little bit of minimalist stuff already :) - I am looking forward to hearing these 2 new Discs when they arrive though and its good to know the Reich/Adams Disc is a good one!  :D

Off-topic: I bought these yesterday!

Bartók: 8 CDs-worth of his orchestral music conducted by Boulez, from DG -- oh, and my first opera on CD!

Chopin: The Complete Edition, again from DG -- the first time, I think, I've been tempted to duplicate music on this scale! I already have the Rubinstein box from RCA Gold and the Rostropovich/Argerich pairing from another box.

I've been eyeing those sets for quite some time and currently they are available at bargain prices at Amazon UK. Got them for a sum 35 Pounds and 19 pence (sans VAT and no shipping charge).

And I can't help but notice that, despite not including a CD or two of Bach in this purchase, which has almost become a habit of mine, the first two letters of the composers' names taken together in the appropriate order spell his name. 0:)

Well, not to complain, but it is the worst I've ever had here. So it goes. :)

Now have 9 of 10 of these boxes. As expected, the last (Vol. 9) will be very difficult, although I have the downloads already anyway, I would love to have the disks themselves. In any case, this has been an excellent series, and I can't help feeling a bit resentful towards Decca for cutting it off at <>80% complete. >:(

One week ago, I purchased this set at $78.31 on Amazon USA, plus $8 for shipping & handling costs.

Now is tagged at $97.03.

Excellent, Conor. Arvo Part has been a favorite of mine for quite some time now. John Adams and Steve Reich are also two of my favorite Minimalists.
