Wow! I didn't know they came in a boxed set! Is this something new or have I been a bit blind?

I believe the box set is only of the Haydn Quartets, nos. 14-19.

One of the best Mahler thirds.....

How's that Das Lied from der Erde? I've only recently been acquiring new recordings of it. Please share...  :)

My mistake.  I should have noticed the five discs in the heading.

Barnes & Noble was having a 3 for 2 sale today on classical, so I bought:

The Rubinstein Collection, volumes 8, 51 and 71.  ;D

Sweet, btw that applies to box sets too!

The bad news is that they may be eliminating their classical section.  :'( :'( :'(

Wasn't much of one anyway. At least not at any of the B&Ns I've been to.

I give up... ;)

About a decade ago, we had a Best Buy here in Minneapolis that had a HUGE classical section and the prices were dirt CHEAP! Now, of course, it's long gone and I soooo wish I had purchased more of their stock at the time.

*sigh*

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Nice call.

Thanks !
I actually don't have a recording of Romeo and Juliette if you can believe it.

I am in a bit of a MTT mood lately so I bought these on Amazon also:

Yes, but the B&N's in NYC are decently stocked with tons of listening stations where you can hear snippets of ANY CD!

Decently stocked, eh? What does that mean? Deeper catalog stuff?

Well, one advantage is that few buy their classical there, so some stores have CD's that are OOP. Another is the 20% box sets for members. Another is they order stuff QUICK.

Decently stocked means they may not have what you're after every time, but have enough so that you can always find something to try out.
