Then I decided that I needed to have the ever popular Dvorak Cello Concerto so I picked this up as well:

Seconded!  :)

Q

Sure. Thank you for your interest.  I have Pierre Bardon playing Marchand and other
minor organist composers at the Louis XIV court on the same organ.  The instrument
is one of the few surviving ones from the period that have not been significantly
altered and those familiar with the Pierre Verany label know about the special charm
of their recorded sound.  Atmospheric.  I will report when the Couperin arrives.  I
have only heard parts of this music from Isoir and Leonhardt, and inevitably find it
less impressive than his later works for the harpsichord.  But still this music deserves
to be heard in full for its historical signifcance alone: many "reconstruction" recordings
include plainchants that were supposed to be inserted in between movements, but this
one seems to lack them.
HIP for all and all for HIP! Harpsichord for Bach, fortepiano for Beethoven and pianoforte for Brahms!

0:) I LOVE that Verdi opera!  Verdi seems to shift from one beautiful aria/ensemble to the next! Hopefully you have the original version set in Sweden with King Gustav III  before those terrible censorship officials forced Verdi to change the setting and characters- talk about destroying a work of art  ::)!

Schubert: The piano trios - Storioni Trio Amsterdam

Sumptuous playing from this trio I was totally unaware of.  The adagio to the first trio is to die for, such togetherness, although very fast in the outer movements of both trios in comparison to the BAT and the Florestan Trio, the latter being my favourite versions of these works, which has Susan Tomes in top form as the pianist.

Great buy, which incidentally is my first purchase this year of music, which was actually recorded in 2007  ;)

Yes, the Storioni Trio does a great job with the Schubert Piano Trios.  Also highly recommended is their way with Beethoven Piano Trios.
