Got the chamber music bug Que??  I am currently infected with the opera bug and I hope I don't recover any time soon.  Happy Listening  :)!!

  marvin

Thanks marvin. :)
I'm afraid I have all kinds of bugs at the moment - a Bach bug of course, but also historical recordings, Early Music, Baroque, chamber music, HIP..... ;D

I'll be interested to hear just how much they trim off the top on this one.

I hope the transfer is as successful as the GROC issue of the LvB/Schubert trios with Casals/Cortot/Thibaud.
I couldn't suppress my curiosity!  ;D Will post a report soon, comparing it with the transfer on Pearl.

Apart from the 37 volume, its a solo album with Robin Blaze........... :P
In the first volumes Mera is the countertenor, sigh.....I do miss that guy enormously. :)

I will eventually buy them ALL, Robin Blaze or not. He's not a crappy singer to my ears. It's Bach's music, Suzuki conducting, BCJ playing, BIS' engineers recordings and from vol. 28 onwards multichannel SACD!

At the moment I have volumes 1-14, 16-20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28-33.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Wait, you have the Pearl set? You're not happy with it?

Some Strauss, bought at MediaMarkt yesterday: Ashkenazy's Alpensinfonie has interesting, rare fillers, works featuring Barry Tuckwell's horn: Andante for Horn and Piano op. post.; Introduction to the closing scene of Capriccio; "Alphorn" op.15/3 for Soprano, Horn and Piano; Introduction, Theme and Variations for Horn and Piano.

This 1964 Die Frau ohne Schatten was Karajan's last production at the Staatsoper as its director. The legendary cast, the Vienna Phil, and Karajan's way with Strauss make this a must own for me despite the disfiguring cuts.

idk why sony wont reissue the bruno walter edition versions of these (being sold used for ridiculously high prices) as opposed to the $130 "famous mahler and bruckner symphonies box set" but thankfully after several months of checking and re-checking i finally found the columbia legends box set for $25 on amazon marketplace!

I was so much impressed by the recording of Franciso Guerrero's Requiem by the same performers (also on Glossa), that I needed a sequel:

Can't wait to watch this - this is only my second opera DVD purchase (the first was Monteverdi's L'Orfeo) :):

I'm a bit late to the party with this one as it seems like almost everyone has heard it:

Better late than never! 8)

Besides, it won't be long before someone (most likely I) will start pestering you about the Gielen now, if you haven't heard it. :P

Cool Mahler, it's the only Resurrection I own now.

Very curious as to the Rosenkavalier.

Hehe, actually, I'd almost forgotten that I have the Gielen Resurrection on its way.

I've been coveting the Gielen set for a long long time now, ever since hearing his #6 on the radio a couple of years ago. I've decided to go the piecemeal route for the fillers and figured that if I pick up a disk here and there, I won't realise how much more it's going to cost than just getting the boxset. I'm easily fooled ;D. I don't know the Kurtag, but the Schoenberg that comes with the #2 is a favourite.

Incidentally, which ones in the Gielen set do you go back to the most?
