Thank you very much George.  They arrived in perfect shape thanks to your careful packing.

Dang, that was quick! I'm very happy they made it to you safely. Enjoy!  :D

Oh, WOW! Enojy, Bill. :)

I was wildly surprised and greatly thrilled, today, to see both of these still available:

The former from Amazon.de, the latter from Amazon.com - so they should be coming soon, along with this, which I threw in on a whim, as I didn't have it:

Quite a fantastic way to wrap up the current phase of my collection, and let it rest again for a little while; or a longer while, given the incredible expenses that I've racked up. :P

Oh boy, oh boy, now you've reminded me that I WANT that! :o  ;D

It does sound like a good idea. ;D

But don't forget the Mitropoulos Mahler 8th, either! 8)

If one is ever going broke, I can think of no better way then enjoying the fruit of the process like we do with good music!  ;D

Just ordered this at French Amazon for a mere €14,35!!  :o
Including shipping I got it for €21,50. It's a preorder for release on april 24th.

They obviously made a mistake: the set is offered twice - at different prices
(The other at €28,56 - which is still cheaper than on British or German Amazon).
I wouldn't waste any time if interested -> GO HERE

On my way!
Thanks.

My first post here (in this thread)... I placed an order last night for the following:

Bit of a shock to the bank balance :o
But I haven't made a purchase in a while, so...  ;D

In addition to this treasure-chest of works, and following the recommendations of this forum, I also reserved the following to borrow from my local library:

Looks like that lot will keep me going for a while.
I'll see you guys next spring!  ;D  8)

How is that Ph.D. proposal shaping up, Daedalus?  ;D

In the mail today:

Mozart, WA
The Piano Concerts
Malcolm Bilson/The English Baroque Soloists/JE Gardiner

After much anxiety I went with this instead of the Immerseel set due to the slightly better sounding fortepiano (IMHO), the more fiery version of no 20 and the more detailed liner notes.

Mozart, WA
Symphonies no 39-41, Bassoon Concerto
Jane Gower/Anima Eterna/Jos van Immerseel

I decided to trust my first impression (and Que's recommendation) and get this instead of SCO/Mackerras.

Haydn, FJ
Die Schöpfung
Les Arts Florissants/William Christie

No anxiety here since it was bought completely on impulse, I think it was the video I posted about in the Haydn's Haus thread that got me.

Sergeant Rock

Music by three composers I've not heard before, or even heard of until recently, who lived during my favorite musical period: Karl Weigl (1881-1949), Emil Bohnke (1888-1928), and Alphons Diepenbrock (1862-1921)

Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Daedalus, wow!  :o

Looks like you'll be busy for awhile with some great music! :)

Love those Haydn quartets.

I heard the opening of the Fifth and thought 'Wow!' I downloaded it from eClassical immediately. Still have to listen to it, though...

You are missing out on Prague!  ;)  But the Immerseel set is worth it anyway.  Get Harnoncourt's live Prague (performed in Graz) with Concentus on DVD.
