My first Handel opera landed this morning. Won't have the time to listen to it today, first spin tomorrow afternoon probably.

Still available for £10 from amazon.uk
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Handel-Ariodante-George-Frideric/dp/B004Q84Z0S/goodmusicguide-20

Hm... I knew you were into Baroque opera and ballet, and assumed you dug and (therefore) had quite a bit of Handel in your collection.

(I'm curious, if I post the link to amazon.uk and add gmg tag after asin number (as above) does the percentage go to gmg, or it works only for amazon.com)

A percentage of the cost goes to Rob. Refer to this post for the correct links. :)

My interest is mostly, vast majority actually, in French and to a lesser degree in early Italian baroque. With Handel I'm just starting now.

Aha, so the link is bit different. Thanks!

That's in my wish list.

I believe a few recordings by Steinberg with the Pittsburgh Symphony that have been OOP for a while are included in this set ...

At long last, I finally placed an order for Solti's Ring, from an Amazon.ca marketplace seller.  New for $111 CDN, which I thought was a decent price for the Solti Ring.  I've been wanting it for a very long time now!  :)

These arrived today:

Bargains at £10 each from Europadisc. Listening to a couple of the Opus 20 quartets today leads me to think these are going to be a lot of fun.

Which is close to the same price it's going for on Amazon US. :)
Yes, but the Europen sites will deduct VAT if you're outside the EU.

Well we were talking about Solti's Ring, so obviously this qualifies as over $25. ;)

I have not seen any European etailers that have better prices on the Karajan's Ring than a number of Amazon US MP vendors and I got mine at a great price at Newbury Comics ...

I am well aware of that.  My point is, I doubt any European etailers would offer a better price on the Solti's Ring than some of the Amazon US MP vendors.

As it happens, right now, Amazon US's own price ($84.04 w/ free shipping) is better than their Marketplace seller's prices.

Looks like Amazon US has started a pre-Christmas price war, as I have never seen the Solti's Ring for less than $90.
