Hello all!!! My first posting here.

I'm an avid collector of recorded music, primarily classical, expecially symphonic repertoire; however, I enjoy collecting and listening to a wide variety of genres. I'm an ex-classical musician who chose a career in medicine over musical performance many years ago. So, this hobby is my primary musical outlet. I am an audiophile of sorts and have a high quality sound system whose goal is to come as close as possible to the live acoustic of a concert hall venue. Thus, I am most interested in discovering thoses all-to-rare recordings of great performances that are also excellent recordings.

I look forward to sharing what I know and learning from members here. ;D

Thank you! The avatar is my oldest dog, a miniature grey schnauzer of 8 years of age and of exceptional personality and intelligence - very devious and sneaky, but cute. I photoshopped the cigar - we don't permit smoking in the house. ::)

I am from France......not!

I'm a fan of bad 1950's sci-fi genre flicks - "greetings earthlings" is an oft used salutation by sundry aliens - has a nice ring to it.

You are very perceptive. I will have to be more subtle in the future. We are all interested in the future. After all, the future is where we are going to spend the rest of our lives. ;D
