My son Alex, a chemist in the Boston area, is also a mountain climber.  Last week he climbed to the top of Mount McKinley, culminating a two week excursion.  To put it mildly, I was a bit concerned about his safety.  Then a couple of days ago, I read that two highly experienced climbers fell 2,000 feet to their death on the very same mountain.

Although saddened by their deaths, I'm also elated that Alex came through okay.  I don't know what mountain he might climb next, but I think I'll get a few tranquilizers for that one.  As it happens, Alex knew the fallen climbers and was stunned when he heard the news.

Glad he's okay, Don. This calls for a cantata.  ;D
