Hi Sonic, exactly as you said cut and drill them to the wall. I'm building like a tacky jewelry place and need certain type of thing to hang the necklaces and things from. I gave myself a huge headache because someone mentioned the floor wasn't level...It causes alot of problems, but I think its ok now.

The saw was a circular electric one just liem your photo. I think I'd prefer a regular saw but my boss bought a fancy one and I didn't complain :)

Mozart - I think you now understand 'what' was asked of you - still glad that you survived the experience!  ;D

Of course, if the floor is 'uneven' then the crosscuts could be slightly off (which is annoying) - separate measurements for each piece need to be made for all pieces to 'match up'; however, the easier way is just to select a single measurement (and use one or several of the methods I mentioned), and then use 'molding' horizontally to 'cover up' the slight variations - just a lot of choices & solutions.

I agree that if this was a fairly 'small' project, then a simple hand saw would have been a perfect (and safer) solution - but, hope that all went well.  If you are asked to do another 'wood working' project, I'll be glad to advise - just check in early -  ;) ;D   Dave

Thanks Sonic! To be honest the floor was perfectly level, what kind of place doesn't have even floors? On the other side I didnt lift them and it turned out 100% better. But I suppose the boss asked for it and it did not turn out 100% because of it.

I haven't survived just yet! 1 more day of moving heavy things but maybe that will kill me. I have enough bruises to look as if I have a purple tan, and my back is killing me! How do you do this work, Sonic? I think some of it could be interesting but the bending and lifting and things leaves the body in such pain always!

Well, you're doing more of what would be described as 'finishing carpentry' - more tedious, labor intensive, and tiresome - I'm just an amateur woodworker (where the electric tools make the job quicker & less strenuous) - my jobs tend to be smaller and less fatiguing, and I usually 'spread out' the effort over many days - so not that bad at all.

As examples, pics below of projects over the last few years - Jewelry Box, small for Susan (mahogany w/ box joints + birds-eye maple top); CD storage unit, again w/ mahogany; Necklace Storage Wall Unit w/ doors, mahogany w/ birds-eye maple door panels - she loves it; and CD storage case w/ doors, again mahogany - so not 'back breakers' but do take a lot of time!  Dave  :)

It's definitely gorgeous stuff, I really like the look of wood inside a home.
