The quotation cited by member Pelleastrian is, then, absolutely true.

(* ahem *)

No, not quite true. By no means absolutely true. But you can underscore your assertion all you like.

You are kidding, right?  ???

Well, it isn't as if he's actually listened to the piece. It starts immediately with an exceptional note.

Testify!!

(I'm sure I will be stealing from this, Karl. Unashamedly (and perhaps even giving you credit 0:).

The one we'll all be stealing from will be Don, Michael:

. . . another piece hyped way beyond it's [sic] musical worth, namely Bach's 'Musical Offering'.

It's hard to fully appreciate a piece of music when you don't have any idea what it's about.

One note is enough!  ;D

But, contrary to popular opinion, over time I have listened to quite a varied array of music of all kinds, I gave Stravinsky his chance like all the others.

To dispute your absurd remark? Of course, it is.

So, tell us all about al the times earlier composers made use of that (allegedly unexceptional) opening note.

So basically all the music you don't rate, Karl, actually means in reality you have no idea what it is about?

Myself, I question Karl Hennings elaborate rants on why he should never have to hear from audiences that they don't like his music.

That is enormously funny, Rod!  Thank you.  Not only the remark itself, but its blatant irrelevance as an ad hominem remark in your lame attempt to weasel out of the specific musical question I just asked, which exposes your remark for the childish absurdity that it is.  And makes you look ridiculous, because anyone listening to the piece, knows it for exceptional music-making from that first note.

Another amusing comment, thank you!  That is an abstract notion on which I have never had occasion to theorize.  All my colleagues who have played or sung my music, and each member of last week's audience, responded positively (and no, not all the music was triadic — though I leave it to someone else to address whether any of the notes were exceptional)

Awww.... does that Rite scare you, little Roddy? Do those notes make your ears sad?  :(
It's okay, you can go off into the corner and cry while you hug your favorite Handel CD and all will be better!  :)

"Each member responded positively"? How could you possibly know when showing displeasure is considered rude? Rod asked you a cogent question, Karl. Why don't you answer it?

Why should one answer Rod's questions at all?

Let it be for the record that it was Harry who mentioned my site, not myself. But I am not a King there I'm a God! Alas unless you have re-registered under a pseudonym you are not qualified to judge the quality of the majority of my 10,941 posts (at time of writing) there.
