Munch Honegger, Munch Roussel, Munch Dutilleux, Munch Debussy, Munch Ravel. And plenty others to munch on.

I once saw Munch conduct the Schubert Symphony#9. It was a a vibrant performance. But what I'll never forget was that by the end of the last movement, Munch was flailing his arms and sweating profusely, the first and only time I had ever seen him get so aroused. Hey, Bulldog, I bet his underwear was soaking wet as well.

Munch's recording of the Saint Saens 3rd symphony is unparalleled. Particularly exquisite, almost enraptured, is his rendition of the slow movement.

I absolutely agree with you.
I love Munch's Saint Saens - Organ Symphony
I owned RCA Red Seal & sealed 45-rpm Classics Records' re-issue

I can't comprehend someone who thinks Munch was merely competent.

Some highlights are the previously mentioned Schubert 9, and Saint-Saens 3, the Beethoven 5, 6 and 9 for RCA (there's more in mono), the Mendelssohn and Schumann symphonies he did, the second Daphnis (haven't heard the first), the second Berlioz Romeo & Juiiet, the second Fantastique, the Dutilleaux, Honegger and Roussel on Erato, the Martinu and Piston 6th symphonies, and the Chausson symphony.  Also work as an accompanist for Heifetz, Szeryng, Graffman, Ricther, and Henriot-Schweitzer.  I'd like to hear his Brahms, his Haydn, and more of his Beethoven and Schumann.

I love the 10-disc Berlioz reissue box.
