Alma Rose, Mahler's niece, violinist, daughter of Arnold Rose, conductor
of the Auschwitz orchestra(!!?). Died there.

I was glad to read the info about her. I didn't know Mahler had a niece that was in Auschwitz, a violin player at that!

She appears in Fenlon's book, Playing for Time, I believe.

"Playing for Time" was made into a movie and shown on Tv. It was very good.

Yes it was. Vanessa Regrave was superb. And the Mahler character was the conductor of the women's orchestra.
