Despite it's popularity, 'Romeo & Juliet' is a great work by any definition.
I would suggest that the 1st Violin Concerto is a great work, maybe because it is so unlike any VC that came before it.
Personally I'd suggest that the 5th symphony is 'greater' than the 6th, but there's not a lot in it.
