How long into it George?  They're talking about something completely different in the beginning, and it's about an hour long. :-\

It starts a few minutes in and goes chronologically, so you can jump around by clicking along the bottom. I did that at first, but it turned out to be so good that I went back and listened to the whole thing.

Unless it's heavily discounted, I'd probably not spring for the set, but I'd like to hear it.

I'll sign onto that.

Did anyone else think that Dave would time his account renewal better in sync with the Beatles release?

So, it seems that they are releasing all the cds and you can buy them one at a time?  I thought they were only releasing in the box sets?  And, is this only for the stereo recordings?

Mono - Box set only, impeccable packaging in mini LP replicas down to the finest detail. Each album comes in a resealable cellophane case.

Stereo - All in a box (plus DVD of all the mini-documentaries from each album) or buy separately. The DVD is not available separately, but if you buy them all singly you get the mini documentary for each album on each CD, viewable on your computer, so you lose no content. The stereo box is made very well and provides a safe way to store those tender digipacs.

As for the sound, well that get's tricky, as there's been a lot of debate about that - you can sample it here - http://www.beatledrops.com/ and compare to the 1987 CDs, the old vinyl, etc.

Stereo - was mastered very well, especially considering the harm that they do these days to old recordings. There's some nice bass that was missing from the 1987 CDs, absolutely no harsh sound, no noise reduction (well, 5 minutes out of the whole box, but that's nothing), packaging is gorgeous, with great liner notes and never seen before pictures of the band. It's like the Beatles were recorded yesterday. (pun intended)  ;D

Mono - it's like going back in time to when the Beatles recorded this stuff, warts and all. The sound can get harsh at times, frankly, but the mixes are superb! Not for listening to everyday, IMO, but great to have. They will only be made for a limited time, unlike the stereo stuff, which will be around for a long time.
