Going through my collection these past couple of weeks, I've found a number of boxset casualties which I'm happy to post to anyone here:

   



A couple of older style Schütz recordings (from the 60s and 70s). I find them beautiful in a spare, stark way - not sure if that's the music or the interpretation - but I love listening to them in the middle of the night (which, quite frankly, probably says more about my personal life than Schütz's music ). I don't, however, have anything with which to compare them nor do I know the music well, so the interpretations could be hopelessly out of date for all I know. The pictures aren't clear, but they're both with the Dresdner Kreuzchor, the Lukas-Passion (Mauersberger) and the Matthäus-Passion (Flämig):

   


Some Marcelle Meyer. I really like her Chabrier, but again don't have anything else for comparison. I haven't got the CD case for the set on me, but do have the booklet. I can send the case when I get it out of storage if I remember where it is:



I haven't listened to this in a while, but Rosbaud's Sibelius hasn't left as much an impression on me as his other works (Mozart, Haydn, 20th century repertoire). It has been a while though, so I don't really trust a) my memory and b) my earlier assessments. But perhaps someone else might like to try it:




This was my first Mozart disc and it's one of the best. I think there's been a few mentions over on the favourite Szell recording thread. Mine is an older incarnation with a different cover:

I have this one and it is some of the best Schumann playing I've ever heard. The Papillons and Fassingsschwanck are non pareil IMO. The Fantasy is already regarded as one of the legendary recordings. I bought mine for $AUS10 brand new. It's an absolute giveaway at the price.
