Just had a dream of getting inside my old house from 12+ years ago. We had to ask the current residents for permission to get inside. They were kind of acting like the circus tigers from Madagascar 3, which I was watching last night. The guy was saying some rude stuff, though I don't remember what it was. They slowly let us (someone was with me, forgot who) in more and more, until we finally reached the living room (not that far, really). They changed the house up a bit.

At one point, I even said, "I dream about visiting my old house a lot. It's awesome to finally be able to visit it." I've had dreams of playing basketball in the driveway like when I was 10-12 and then the current resident saying something, but I never went inside with the current resident home. New one lol.

Lucid dream after waking up and going back to bed ~6:30 and sleeping until 7:30.
It lasted probably 10 minutes, because I had to constantly make myself relax and not do anything that would wake myself up.

This would be every morning if it weren't so noisy in the house...

Two dreams: one normal and one lucid.

Normal: in my friend, Yuse's room (knew him from elementary to high school). Must have forgotten that I used to go to his house many times years ago. Looking for clues as to why he ended up becoming a scientist (he actually is one, and only my age).

Lucid: at my elementary school. I decide to fly away. For some reason, it is quite a struggle this time, flapping my arms to get up into the sky, but eventually I'm in the sky and fly straight ahead for a bit. |-------don't remember what happens here-----| I'm in a building and walk around for a bit. I go into the classroom of one of my current instructors, but the class looks nothing like it does in real life. I start wanting a girl to appear, so I walk around and there is a hidden room nearby; I open it up and there is a girl, but she is fading in and out, so whatever. I walk away and exit the classroom.

Very long dream last night. Felt like it went on for hours in a straightforward narrative.

I had to get through an extremely large building that had many rooms, almost school library-like. The problem was, there was a huge flood coming from the other side. Crossing through the building was a very long and complex process; felt like an hour, but probably was more like 20 or 30 minutes.

I finally reached the other side and got on the highway. Unfortunately, my memory is vague, but it was a pretty crazy ride. There was this one stop... might have visited it twice. Then I was more north on the "world map." At this point, I was looking at a screen, playing a video game instead of experiencing it, and meeting up with two Sonic the Hedgehogs.  ???

It lasted so long that waking up had that initial shock- "really?"

Last night I decided to quit trying to lucid dream. It's just unnecessary stuff to concentrate on. I thought, "pssh, I'll probably have one tonight. Quitting or similar actions very often bring about lucid dreams; it is ironic." The thought lasted 5 seconds, so I forgot about it.

I ended up having a lucid dream. By not trying. It ended when I tried to do something.  ??? I'm over the mind games of lucid dreaming.  ::)

Last night I dreamed about going to a concert with music from a contemporary composer, who happened to be there, too. I knew his music was somewhat radical, so I wondered how the audience in Orlando would react to it.

Part of it consisted of extramusical activities: there was a circular set of hurdles that a group of children had to run and jump over while singing. Some of them fell over the hurdles, and the performance was a disaster. However, they were still encouraged and everyone acted like nothing was wrong. I left early because the music was terrible, even though I made it clear that I was a fan of contemporary classical music.

Minor note: became lucid on the night of Dec.21 as well, but not again since. Over the last year+, it seems to reconfirm that the only way I can acquire lucid dreams is by a completely different change in perspective in lucid dreaming in general. You can't do that every day.  ::)

I said I was quitting lucid dreaming... well, ummm...

anyways, besides the woooonderful lucid dream a few nights ago, I had a slightly interesting experience this morning. Woke up, and while falling back asleep, my dream body rolled out of my bed, as I've done many times now. I get up and walk around and for a minute and it takes a minute for me to open my eyes fully. I go to the bathroom and look in the mirror. I know I'm dreaming, but everything looks and feels so real that I start to doubt it. I try to put my hand through the mirror. I can't, and really start wondering if I'm actually awake. I try to wake up. I do.

Anyone ever take a nap and think your eyes are open because you see stuff as if they were open... and then you open your eyes? That happened twice during my nap today.

What a wonderful dream: me sitting there, taking a nap with my eyes open.  :-\

ibanezmonster

Heh... this one is pretty bizarre.

Tried to stay awake at 8 this morning but fell back asleep for ~20 min. During that time, I had a dream that I was in this sort of building that had a lifting door just like a storage shed. I had a wife that was going into labor and was trying to find a spot for her. I walk up to the door and notice a bunch of people that were all dressed up and ready to go inside- apparently this was a mosque! So, I'm kind of there and don't know what to do, and the dream ends.

ibanezmonster

Just a warning... this one is a bit messed up.

Last time, dreamed of visiting a friend who I hadn't seen in 13 or 14 years. Me and some other people were in his room, and had his TV on, but was controlling it as if it were a computer. What popped up by accident on the screen? Flinstone porn.  ??? I didn't say anything and waited patiently for him to delete the images while he was saying, "How embarassing..."

I ask to see his video game collection and there are some games, but in some spots where there should be games, there was a bottle of lotion, which he said was a game.  ??? The whole time he acted like he wasn't interested in anything and was being as dull as humanly possible, as if he had deteriorated as much as possible. He lost interest in everything, apparently, and felt like everything was lame.

Then, for a while, I must have been dreaming about shapes in some type of alternate reality with different laws. When I gradually woke up, the shapes and layout of everything didn't make sense at first because I had gotten used to being in this abstract world. The only image that I recall from it, however, is: everything was grey, but there was a transparent cube that was 2 and 3 dimensional at the same time that I was inside and outside at the same time. Yeah.  :-X

Kind of felt weird waking up this morning, like I teleported to my bed rather than woke up.

I dreamed that my school exploded, basically. The school's location was directly to the left of the elementary school I went to in 5th grade. I was in the library when I looked at one of the monitor displays from a camera and from the hallway two of these gangster looking thugs both entering the bathroom. I knew they were up to no good. Suddenly, the fire alarm came on and we had to evacuate immediately. Outside, I see the explosions in the school, resulting from the bombs they set. Then, I noticed a ring of fire about 50 or 100 feet away that started to encircle us, trapping us between an exploding school and flames. Somehow, we managed to find an opening and escaped. Later, I talked to one of my friends who I haven't seen in years, and he showed me this new development that is basically a clump of sand shaped similar to a quarter, but slightly larger than the size of a bottle cap, that can turn into a bomb if you crush it with your hands; this is what they used. Waking up was a relief. But that's only because I work in the evening; nightmares are more fun and exciting.  :P

If I had to guess, this dream was a mixture between the propane plant explosion 10 miles from my house and me telling someone about the time someone light a fire in the garbage at my high school.

Before that, I recall a short dream of playing some type of saxophone shaped like a french horn. I played a note, which surprisingly sounded good, but lowered pitch and became really brassy as I exhaled.

My phone alarm woke me up RIGHT when I looked into the face of this giant bird and said, "Hello, bird!" It didn't look too pleased. I think my mind was trying to imagine a chocobo, but messed up.

I fell back asleep (I'm pretty sure this happened after) and dreamed pretty much what I wanted to dream. I was thinking last night that I wanted to experience some of the events that happened in Final Fantasy 8, but realistically... I ended up dreaming about going to the moon, which was an event in the game. Also, there was a strange part where I had to stand on my head and then another ground would appear above me, so I had to flip upside down in order to get to another place.

At least five dreams last night:

1. I shaved my beard completely. IRL, I need to shave, but not all of it.  ::)
2. My shoes were falling apart visibly. IRL, there is a squeak to them that is new. These shoes need to last a while, since they were $80.
3. I threw up for some reason. This was the most vague one.
4. I had a lucid dream about doing one of the things I would want to do most in a lucid dream. It got to where it wasn't clear, though, so meh...
5. I was in the mall with 2 of my friends that live near Orlando and we were in a room where Bill Cosby was, getting autographs, except no one was there but us and him. He looked uglier in my dream. Supposedly, it had been busier earlier, but it was later and only we were there. My friends unfortunately walked off and muttered, "So weird" or "So stupid" but I wanted to take a picture with him. To get into position, I had to awkwardly squat down and put my arm around his shoulder, since the camera was desk level. And that was it.

Dreamed that I had found the source for what provoked things such as the recession and the NSA spying: aliens!  ???
I think I imagined them as the types that are parasites to human hosts and use them to create widespread misery for societies (similar to the Yeerks in the Animorphs book series).

I confronted some of them and threw stuff at people who I knew were infected...

Ha! I remember this one... the rest not so much.

Last night I had a dream that I was going down a crowded stairwell (may have been my old high school) and briefly saw Shostakovich in the crowd a few steps above me. Maybe it's because I was listening to some of his quartets yesterday...
Beethoven's Op. 133 -- A fugue so bad that even Beethoven himself called it "Grosse".

It's his ghost, seeking a new GMG host after MI gave him the boot. I ended up with Barber.

One of my dreams from 2009:

Quote from: Greg on April 01, 2009, 07:09:05 PM
A few nights ago, a very entertaining dream. It's under the category of an "epic" dream because of clarity and length, yet the scenario is completely different from a normal epic dream. I was lucky because I only had this dream because I forgot to set my alarm clock and was supposed to wake up an hour earlier. It was worth being late for this one.  8)

I was at a concert where a string quartet was playing through the complete cycle of Shostakovich string quartets. They get up to 7 (which was really 11, but I subconsciously get those numbers mixed up because of the 7/11 gas station), when the one of the violinists, who leads from the beginning of the string quartet- you know, that opening- sees, or more like, I see, the tip of her bow at the bottom of my metal chair leg, and it's stuck. Somehow, she's able to bow, although slightly agitated.

At the end of one of the movements (in my dream I considered it the finale, but I'd have to go back and check, because I don't think it is), there's this passage where the cello and one of the other instruments plays a two-note repeating motif that gets louder, faster, more intense, and the violinist whose bow is stuck under my chair is supposed to finish it off. She can't because now the whole string is broken, so we laugh about it.

Then, some old guy sitting in the middle of the audience gets up and protests the music (i was sitting on the far right). He says, "This music is not sexually aesthetic!" Then some guy walks in from behind all of us and we all turn our heads to look. I can't remember now what he says, but I think he explains the music or something.

Yeah, Shostakovich really dropped the ball there...

That's pretty funny. I love how dreams are often just a collage a bunch of unrelated things.
