Exactly.

The Germans, who make doctrines out of everything, deal with music learnedly; the Italians, being voluptuous, seek in it lively, though fleeting, sensations; the French, more vain than perceptive, manage to speak of it wittily; and the English pay for it . . . - Stendhal

Hello,

Is anyone else here finding that it is taking a very long time to currently access the forum, to login, to move around and to post?

The forum is working normally for me. I haven't had problems for months now.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

O.k., so not just me (a relief)!  And yes, it's now fine at my end too.  Perhaps something having to do with computer usage in certain areas?

That's a fair surmise. We are hosted on a commercial server farm, and there can be no saying how many others are also hosted here and what their traffic looks like. Once in a while, my connection is slow for a short time and then back to normal again. So far, I have attributed it to just that... :-\

There seems to be something odd going with when you try to embed a YouTube video with flash. The video gets posted but there’s some long address that follows it like this for example:

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb7M68FMokQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb7M68FMokQ</a>
Don’t forget your three A’s, folks: Arnie, Alban and Anton!

I noticed that the US Politics thread was locked (again).  I'm guessing that this was on purpose?

Twice recently I've been viewing a thread while not logged in, logged in, and gotten transported to a different thread.
Bug? Feature? But definitely weird.

Yes, we decided to keep the old one closed, and start a new one. The new one ("redux") is here:
