Favorite Tchaikovsky-esque Orchestral Works

Speaking of whom, Cato . . . a must for this thread (a special case, obviously) is Stravinsky's ballet, Le baiser de la fée.

And although people connect early Stravinsky to Rimsky, it is not impossible to hear Tchaikovsky's influence in the early works, including The Firebird.  I recall reading that Stravinsky was a champion of the early symphonies of Tchaikovsky, especially the Third ("The Poilsh").

Certainly. Talking of early Stravinsky, try the 'Symphony in E Flat'. A mixture of all the Russian greats before Stravinsky found his originality!

I agree with the comments about the Tchaikovsky suites, wonderful lighter works!
