Yeah.  I first heard Helen Watts in this 1967 Handel Messiah recordings.  The first LP set on Handel Messiah I bought back in the mid 70's.  I only bought the remastered CD a few years ago ...

Sad news.  Just in the last few days I was listening to The Makrapolus Case (Janacek, Mackerras) with her singing the female lead.  Fantastic singer.

I was an admirer of Söderstrom. She was amazing playing Elina Makropoulos, in Janacek's opera.
