What the hell is happening to the Steelers?  :-\

How can a team with that much talent (not to mention defending Super Bowl champs), fall apart like this?  They lost to the lowly *gulp* Cleveland Browns for their 5th straight loss.  Yikes!

Kudos on the Saints, Colts and Vikings, who are having awesome seasons.  I love Favre......he got me into football about 12 years ago.

The Patriots have really laid down and died over the last month, but today might be a new low. The Panthers QB is making his first start since 2007, didn't throw a single pass all year last year, and he's only completing a third of his passes. But Tom Brady and the Patriots look downright awful and they haven't been able to do a thing so far.

Luckily, they turned things around in the second half.

With Indy and New Orleans winning again, we get closer to a Superbowl between unbeaten teams.  That would be a special game indeed.

Now watching San Diego vs. Dallas; San Diego just scored a td - leading 7 to 3.  They're looking very good and always play great in December; can't say that of Dallas.

Well, ... he is Frenchman, eh?

I know we'll never forget ol' Brent, here, in Green Bay.  (grin)

You mean, Brett?  ;)  It is odd seeing him in purple, as opposed to the green and gold.  I am still a Packers fan.  :)  Got to admit, he is having one of his best seasons ever....at age 40!

Yes, he is, ... thanks largely to Adrian Peterson.  When Adrian gets stuffed, ol' Brent gets twitchy.  Bad things happen.  This cold December weather can't be good for those old bones, either.

As geezer QB's go, I'd much sooner put my money on Kurt Warner ... and it just might come down to that!

Umm, I think it's a joke, Roy... ;)

OK, I have a rant regarding the NFL playoff format.  Plain and simple, I think it clearly needs to be changed.  I remember a few years ago, the Patriots finished with an 11-5 record, but didn't clinch one of the Wild Card spots since a division winner with a lesser record got in.

The same scenario is shaping up in the NFC this year.  Either the Packers, Bucs or Giants will have 9-7 or 10-6 records, but probably two of these teams will not get into the playoffs as they have to have a division winner out of the Rams (who may finished 8-8) or the Seahawks (who would get in with a 7-9).  Not only this, but the Rams or Seahawks would host a playoff game potentially against the Wild Card defending Super Bowl Champion Saints who might finish with a 12-4 record!   :o

It's just not right.  I think they need to change the playoff format to the Top 6 teams of each conference, period.

Your thoughts?

Wow. 13 years since the last post??  ;D

Guess it isn't an NFL crowd. Perhaps we'll get spillover from some MLB posters.

Good defensive game at the Meadowlands this evening. The undefeated Eagles are having trouble with the Jets. Some very good defensive play on both sides. Aaron Rodgers remains on the sidelines. Think he plans on returning by early November. Middle of the 3rd with a Birdz two point lead, 14-12. Fun one.

Close one but Jets had four takeaways. Granted, key Eagles defensive players were out but the Jets showed up tonight. Good to see after that catastrophic beginning of the season.

^Catastrophic is right, all the Jets fans I know were devastated with Rodgers' injury during the first drive of game 1. Hope the Giants can get it together too... it has not been a good year for NY football.

Have always been more of a college football guy, but am just starting to watch more NFL this season. I've never been a fan of any team, but given that I like supporting the underdog and the home team (and I like the color blue) I think I'm rocking with the Giants ;D

Good luck with that. They were pissing me off even during the winning Eli Manning seasons. One consistently inconsistent squad.  :-\

Should be a fun 10 weeks for the Jets. As long as that D keeps showing up I'll show up, too, Rodgers or no. I wasn't entirely convinced at the Russell Wilson-Zach Wilson 1st two season stats comparison yesterday. I don't think Zach has the same field of vision that Russell had early on - though he certainly has the hustle. Funny vid -

1st Giants first half TD this season followed by a Saquon Barkey TD after a pick. The Commanders are not good. Though the Giants haven't been, either. Good to see the them on the offensive, at any rate. 14-0 near the half.

ando

I'd like to think interim QB T Taylor might be the missing piece to get the Giants to at least a .500 record but it's obviously the return of Saquon that made the difference in yesterday's game.

Happy to see the Giants finally get a win yesterday, despite a still mediocre offense. Was interesting proof that perhaps Daniel Jones may be part of the problem.
