I just got hold of the recording under Alexander Rumpf- anyone know this work?

I've had the Actes Sud recording conducted by Friedemann Layer for a couple of years.  I really need to give it a serious listen some day.

Thanks Wendell, I expect it's no lost masterpiece but does fill in the picture in an interesting historical period...

I'd like to hear this opera; I've heard some enthusiastic reports about it .

It's closest to the Dukas opera, rather arbitrary and seemingly dependent on libretto over musical structure- monochrome stuff in the contained French (/Swiss) style; also has occasianal reminiscences of the Chausson, Debussy and Carmen.
