Glenn Beck said George Bush laid the groundwork taking us to Fascism, last I checked he was a Republican.  He also discussed Fascism and Communism.  Sounds like a lot of famous people were seduced by Mussolini in the beginning before they knew the truth.   Since Fascism is Far Right the only ones that can take us there are conservatives. 

The bit about Michael Moore supporting Obama no matter what is a bald-face lie.  He did support his election but he has disagreed with almost EVERYTHING Obama has done since becoming President.

First off Jed Brandt is a Communist NOT a Progressive.  That Video was full of lies and I will now prove that to you beyond a shadow of a doubt.  You will not be able to character assassinate Progressives with this made up stuff.   

If you paid attention to this video at all the communist Jed Brandt called Glenn Beck a Fascist whore, meaning of course what we all know that it is conservatives that have to be careful not to progress to Fascism, since Fascism is on the Far Right.  Remember Conservatives have to steer from the extreme right or they endup Fascist Nazi skin-heads.  Liberals have to be careful not to go too far left or they end up communists.  Progressives are neither right or left but "up" on the political spectrum and do not have to worry about going either direction.

And yes we were screwed, we did not get Single-Payer Universal Heath Care which would have save the country   billions of dollars by removing the middle man.  No we got Heath Care that involves the greedy Insurance Companies and heath care costs are actually going to go up, not down.  NO WAY IS OBAMA A PROGRESSIVE, NO WAY IN HELL! 

I'm sure Obama has Progressive ideas but the problem is there are far too many republicans in the Congress. Obama is forced to make painful compromises in order to get anything done.

American Greens should get themselves into the Congress. Parliament of Finland has 14 Green members out of 200 (should be ~20 members as the support of Greens is about 10 % among voters but it's the election process that is unfair to smaller groups...)

Our Greens have 2 ministers in our current administration. The Green Party is strongly against nuclear power but they were totally powerless to prevent the authorization of two new nuclear power plants recently. Politics is about painful compromises, even more so if you don't have broad support from the voters.

No, it has worked because Sweden is a relatively small state comprising one nation with shared history, culture, genes, language, religion, and fundamental values, and as a centuries-old monarchy long accustomed to strong central rule.  The total number of people in Sweden is roughly equal to that of the Bay Area alone, and the entire population of Scandinavia is less than that of California.  Thinking you can govern a huge polyglot country like the United States in the same fashion as a small Scandinavian constitutional monarchy is like thinking you can train your cat to become a Michelin star chef!

Under the U.S. Constitution, each state (like California, Massachusetts, Iowa) has the power to govern itself in whatever manner the people of that state choose, as long as it neither encroaches on the rights guaranteed to all U.S. citizens nor on the powers explicitly granted to the Federal government alone.  Thus, the people of each state are free to develop local solutions suited to their particular situations.  This permits an extraordinary range of diversity and freedom to experiment with new policies and methods if the people so choose.  The states learn from one another's successes and failures, with other states adopting strategies proven effective elsewhere and abandoning strategies shown to deliver sub-standard results.

Unfortunately, the continuing expansion of federal power in direct violation of Constitutional authority--supported by well-intentioned voters who are disastrously ignorant of history, economics, political science, and even their own cultural heritage--has created a strong central government that imposes uniform policies on ALL the states, paid for by an enormous federal tax burden that leaves most states few resources to manage their own destinies.

The current administration allied with the equally corrupt and extreme-partisan Congressional leadership are doing everything they can during this window of opportunity to consolidate federal control over several key areas of American public and private life.  Per their intent, we may be dangerously close to the tipping point after which orderly, lawful, "civilized" correction of the disastrous outcomes of their policies will no longer be possible.

It is a terrible pity that those infatuated with the idealistic vision described by the leaders of this current push are too blinded by prejudice and too ignorant of history to see where this path leads.  They are like the European Liberals of the 1930s, enslaved by their own wishful thinking and unwilling to recognize the growing menace presented by Hitler and the rise of National Socialism, who lashed out viciously at the clear-sighted folks like Churchill who warned of the obvious threat.  They are like the "progressives" of the twenties and thirties in love with their own idealized visions of Communist theory who turned willfully blind eyes to the viciously brutal realities of the Soviet state.

It is also a great pity that they are too self-righteously smug to examine their assumptions, to apply whatever critical faculties they possess to their own ideologies, and to admit and learn from their mistakes instead of doubling down with each failed policy they promote.  Per Santayana's maxims that "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" and that "Fanaticism consists in redoubling your efforts when you have forgotten your aim," they are determined to plunge us all on an unsustainable path that will inevitably diminish the quality of life for their children and grandchildren and lead to tragically unnecessary loss and suffering.  It might not yet be too late to avoid this terrible fate, but only if the deluded masses cast the scales from their eyes and read the writing on the wall.
