Crosby scores.....and collectively Canada exhales!  :) :D

Wow, what a game.  That USA squad should be so very proud.  No one gave them much of a chance to win a medal (let alone silver) and most might have picked them to finish 5th or 6th.

Clearly, the two best teams truly were in the gold medal game, and it could have so easily have gone to the USA.  Crosby truly became a national hero today.

The best hockey I've seen since the 1987 Canada Cup.

Canada wins 14 gold medals, the new all-time best in the Winter Olympics.  And the USA wins a record total medals, and congratulations to you, Team USA.  Both nations did great, and I'm now sad that the games are over.  :'(

Now that was a great hockey game.  And I congratulate you and all the other Canadians here--really, one for the ages.  It was an excellent two weeks--IMHO one of the best Winter Olympics ever.  As Gurn says, it was fun to see new dynasties on the rise, e.g., the winning U.S. bobsledding team (although I enjoy that and luge any time).

I do agree with the criticism of NBC's handling of the closing ceremonies: while the party was still in full swing, they abruptly broke away to the new Jerry Seinfeld show--just seemed miscalculated and insensitive.  But all in all, a very fine two weeks.

It was a great two weeks.  I wasn't aware of any criticism of NBC over the closing ceremonies, but I find the ceremony activities totally boring.

I like the opening, not the closing. After they blow out the candle, I'm ready to go, don't need the concert and people dancing in the stands etc. Actually, I thought they stayed about 45 minutes too long. :)

And Teemu Selanne is now the all-time Olympic scoring leader. These were the Mighty Olympics.

Too bad Teemu and his Teemumates didn't show up in the 1st period of the semi-finals against the USA.  Seriously, it was so bad, one could almost think it was fixed.
