South park is funny because it offends people.

i disagree, if you think offensive material is funny, then you obviously have missed the essence of South Park. the satirical nature of the show absolutely brilliant, i hope you can see that. They satirize just about everything, kinda like Borat in many ways.

I meant to say, "i'm a'ight with that", but you know, when it encompasses a wide range of ages and body sizes of people who do that....

Once a year there's something like a nude marathon here in the mountains. Most participants are above 40 and short excerpts of them* even appear in the news. All of them communicate they don't have problems with the way their bodies look.  They don't realise it's us, expectators, who actually have problems regarding the way THEIR bodies look.

*short excerpts of the competitions, not the attenders, of course.

i just looked at that quote and didn't even recognize it as my own since i used the word "encompasses".
i'm spending too much time on this forum  ;D

There you go! People are crazy, aren't they? Probably some are just saying they don't have a problem, even though they do, but some probably weight like 500 pounds and honestly think to themselves, "well, y'know, i'm alright. I don't see anything wrong. I can't fit on the toilet or any chairs anymore, but that doesn't mean anything. So what if the doctor says I'll have a heart attack if I eat just one more piece of cake." It's amazing, really, how people could think that. It's just like how on American Idol people who think they can sing sound like a frog trying to sing. And there's tons of them. You wonder if they're just trying to make themselves feel better, by only accepting the "fact" that they can sing, because facing the real fact that they can't sing is just too painful. Or maybe they're just stupid  ???

I thought the Borat movie sucked, but I love the Ali G show.  He just wasn't able to translate the show's brilliance to the big screen, IMO.  (Although most critics seem to disagree with me).  I just say this so that, if you don't like the movie, you don't pass up the TV show ( I think it's on DVD) .  Sascha Baron-Cohen is a genius.

I wonder why our female counterparts have yet to check in?  ???

I just couldn't stand all the idiots repeating the lines from the movies. Remember Austin Powers... I love Ali G but I'll wait to see Borat. Ali G in da house is a good movie, I laughed alot when I saw it.

I loved Borat, that was the first Cohen Movie i saw. Then, i watch his Ali G show, that was pretty good too; the movie Ali G in da house is a great movie, everyone should see it.

I'd suggest that there's more women that listen to classical music than men, but men are more prone to log onto internet forums to talk about it... (And make lists about it like the record store workers in High Fidelity...)
You may be right! Especially the internet forum/list part...I wonder if anyone's done a demographic study on this.
It's funny that in popular culture, esp. TV & movies, the image of the classical music/opera/ballet audience is usually that of reluctant men being dragged to the concert hall or theater by their wives and girlfriends.

A woman drag a man to the opera? I have never heard of such a thing!

Me neither. From my personal experience, I have to threat girls (small doses of violence included) for them to attend operas with me.*

*Operas only.

mahlertitan

if i can trust the data presented to me by previous posters, i can conclude that women are biologically fearful of operas

well, obviously you have to put the word "most" in there or all operas would be played only by men.

(scary thought, i definetely wouldn't wanna see something like Tristan and Isolde...) :-X
