Yup you betcha. :)

Man that's crazy, you're only going to be a 100 miles south of me. :D

What? There isn't anything 100 mi. north of DFW. Are you herding cattle?

      Wurst.....Food....innn the world!

Another favorite of mine is sausage and peppers on a sub roll.

I bought a yellow and an orange bell pepper to use with onion and some sweet Italian sausages.

I also make a horseradish sauce to go with it. That's optional, though, they're just fine on their own.

Well, my favorite sausage-on-a-bun is not those, but real-deal bratwurst. We get them from Usinger's in Wisconsin, the ones with the crackling skins and wonderful spices. My wife simmers them for a fair bit in cheap beer (the maltier the better. "Old Milwaukee" works great), and then I get a few coals fired up hot and grill them til the skins split. Then throw 'em on a Sunbeam with a big, healthy dollop of Yellow Mustard and there you go, sausage fit for a king!

Those ones you have there, Ernie, have 2 uses; mixed into marinara sauce and poured on penne pasta, and chopped up and put on pizza with plenty of green olives and mozzarella. :)

I love grilled brats, too. You shouldn't sell these Eye-Tye sausages short, though. Don't smother them with tomato sauce, saute them in olive oil along with the bell peppers, a medium onion and a clove of garlic and some fresh ground black pepper, and serve on a crusty sub roll (or one of those pointy Portuguese kind) from the Stop & Shop on Mass Ave.

Ah, so that's where you're hiding!

      That Germanfest looks like fun:

This three-day festival attracts thousands to mouthwatering German sausage, scrumptious apple strudel, hearty cheeses and homemade bread, cakes and pies. So, come to Muenster and let us be your host for food, fun and frolic. Be sure to bring a "guten apetit."

I'm going to Texas in June for only 3 days, and I'll be sticking close to the home base in Arlington, venturing out into Ft. Worth for some Mexican food (an old-fashioned place with a wall painted with an Old West mural, and really strange praline things by the cash register). I hope to get some barbecue at some point as well (brisket, yeah!).
