I guess I cheat on Windows by converting everything to single click. I feel the need to compress my sins.

As we've been cheated out of higher quality computer technology for decades, I'd say your conversions are only fair.  8)

     Ouhh ouhh ouhh....

The Arc B580 is now available at MSRP on the Egg! Well, I slightly lied since it's $259.

Going to see if I can get this game to run (I've not beaten it, and it's been tugging on me): Zork: Nemesis

If you all are interested in cutting edge indie games, the deal currently on itch.io is insane!

10 bucks for 96 games: https://itch.io/b/3110/no-ice-in-california
60 bucks for 350 games: https://itch.io/b/3062/queer-games-bundle-2025-with-10-option

For me, I no longer find mainstream gaming all that interesting (I do like reading about it), so indie games has really been where I've been having the most fun (plus they are a lot more daring).

I've started watching Cracking the Cryptic. They are on a whole other level of mastery. They are astonishingly brilliant!

I've also started playing The Shivering Isles expansion of Oblivion, but more like once every week or two. I mostly play Sudoku.

Just now I'm downloading the remastered versions of Warcraft II and Warcraft III.

I wonder how closely these will follow the spirit of their original incarnations, which happily wasted uncounted hours of my life decades ago.

Speaking of which, I clicked on Mark's video from today (only 20 minutes), and after learning the rules, decided to give the puzzle a try. It's been months since I've attempted one of their featured puzzles. I was able to solve this one in 32 minutes. There's some nice logic in this one, and it is fairly approachable. https://sudokupad.app/b5azokaz10

Been looking for a game to give me a Command & Conquer: Red Alert feel, and I've always avoided Warhammer, and, well - I think I might have been wrong to do that - it seems like the game I might have been looking for. (Haven't tried it yet, as I just got it off GoG - won't be able to try it until this weekend, but the game was priced to sell!) :)

And, yes, I know that Warcraft and Starcraft are better fits, but I can't play those offline, and being able to play offline is my number one concern. :)

I went back and found "Thermodynamics" by Aad van de Wetering. Aad is one of my favorite Sudoku constructors: he'll choose a simple ruleset and find a minimal set of clues that leads to an elegant solution. This is one of his easier puzzles (just under 15 minutes for me), but it was very satisfying to place the digits on one of the diagonals.

I solved it! Very nice patterns along the thermometers.

I've become addicted to variants created by humans. They are a ton of fun. The anti-king, anti-knights also led me to learning and using forcing chains. Those games use lots of them, but in a way that is not difficult for a person to spot.

Anyway, I'm going to take a break from it all. It has become an obsession!

I'm playing the Microsoft Games Mahjong. I like it because it's easy to cheat by right-clicking on a tile.

Been bouncing between World of Warships and Diablo IV.

WoW was gratifying yesterday, I completed a weeks-long series of tasks which gave me access to Adm. W.F. Halsey, now he can command my American ships.  $:)

I'm in a similar " quest " for the IJN's Adm. Yamamoto, but that's a much lower priority as he isn't as strong as Halsey, and I currently don't have any Japanese ships in my fleet in any case.

I just finished ( for tonight ) playing my seasonal Sorcerer in D4. The new season begins in ten days, and my preferred skill for dealing damage is getting a boost with the season, so I'm looking forward to that.

A few days ago I re-re-re-downloaded the old Microsoft Freelancer game, from 2003. There is a mod I was playing a couple of years ago which gave me a lot of enjoyment. Unfortunately, the partial paralysis which I incurred in my left hand a while back, is now also in my right hand, though to a lesser extent. So I'm not nearly as " twitchy " as I was a couple years ago, and I may have to resign myself to saying goodbye to any space- or flight simulators, going forward.

Need to get my gaming mojo back, so going back to the four games I can play patiently - 100 percenting - might even try the secret route in Spycraft, which I've never tried.

Arcanum, Fallout: New Vegas, and Spycraft.

God, I love these games so much - I love playing slow. :)

It's Aad's 81st birthday, and he made a puzzle "9x9 = 81" to celebrate! It's a bit more challenging (31:25 for me) but an excellent puzzle. (There's also a Cracking the Cryptic video on this puzzle, which is how I found out about it. But who would want to watch that when they could solve an Aad van de Wetering puzzle?)

I started Baldur's Gate III for the third time...(basically just got to the Emerald Grove the three times before  :-X )

That was very hard but I solved it. It took me an hour and a half though!

Tempest Rising might be the one that fits your criteria. I haven't played it so i have no idea whether it is good or not. Presentation looks great. Visuals are very good and the feel is very reminiscent to the old Westwood classics. Alas, it's published by 3D Realms which doesn't have a great track record so i'm not sure how good the game actually is but i guess it's worth looking into it.

And just when one thinks the light might be around the corner, RAM prices have now trippled.

Gaming is starting to become an hobby for rich people.
