Price drop to $50 plus shipping.  A really nice deal for top condition of this harder to find set.

SHOSTAKOVICH - Complete String Quartets, Piano Quartet - Sviatoslav Richter BORODIN QUARTET
6CD set on Melodiya / BMG 74321 / 40711 2.  Condition is near mint for discs, cases, and inserts.  Definitive performances!

This set is a little hard to find, and prices are $109.00 to 195.00 on amazon (I am not kidding), and the set is not listed on ebay.

I am asking $60 $50 plus shipping, $4.50 shipping in US with Delivery Conf.  Outside US shipping is at cost, and depends on location obviously.

ITEM IS NOW SOLD, thank you.

And even here shows another repackage.

But they never seem to be in stock in the US, and Amazon shipping to the USA ends up being very high priced, more than this set after pounds converted to dollars.

My set is likely the better deal.

It's subsequently been reissued, however.

Wrong.  The Chandos set is from the 60's, before the 14th and 15th quartets were written.  The Melodiya set was completed in the early 80's and was at one time available as an EMI release.

The Melodiya set (quartets 1-15) was reissued here in Russia two years ago, in a new packaging aimed at the Russian market.  I don't know what they've released overseas, though.

Yes, I posted a link to the amazon UK listing of that exact set (just after your wrong information  ;D posted.  It is always on back order, or expensive to ship to the US.  Ends up being more pricey than my offer.

You are only reasonably priced for the too-lame-to-order-from-mdt crowd.  The set is available there new for 21 pounds.  (The older, incomplete Chandos set for 11 pounds.)  On the other hand, sometimes when you order from mdt you get a polite e-mail from them a week later advising that it is "out of stock at the distributor."
