Surely it couldn't kill Nikolaus to smile once in a while? :P

Not idiomatic.

Just playing of course, we love Nik. Great conductor, can't live without his Mozart recordings.

After reading your post, I searched for pictures in which Harnoncourt truly smiles. One of the results in Google was as attached. :D

It's like asking Dick Cheney to smile, please, no more!

The newer CSO Resound releases are fine. But this cover is just plain stupid.

It's a spiral, so there is something very mathematical about it.

stupid yes, but not at all unpleasant.

Having defended the CSO covers earlier in this thread (and I stand by that with regards to the Bruckner CD), I do think this one is a bit odd. It looks like a stampede of graphics and seems to be saying, "Let's get out of here!"

Not unpleasant at all; just a bit peculiar.

I think it may be your imagination.

I second that. It's pretty clearly your aesthetics that are at 'fault' here.

Not bad at all. The cover indicates powerful music. Rating: 7/10

Even better than the first one. Very good colors. Good contrast between bright and dark areas.  Rating 8.5/10.

This is the worst of these three covers. Looks stupid. The texts are like aliens invading the Earth and covering everythings up! Colors are chosen poorly. Restless and annoying.  Rating 4/10.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

No, this is very good! Beauty is about balance between symmetry, flow and variation. Here we have them all put together very nicely. The arrows are symmetric objects. There are different kinds of arrows to give us variation and all the arrows form a "flow" ! Spiral is a bonus indicating that the "arrow-idea" wasn't two-dimensional only. Rating: 8.5/10
