"Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part III" probably does not rise quite to the level of its precursors, but it still has its merits, and I am glad they made a stab at it ; )

Oh! And Thrak really blind-sided me . . . a startlingly rich album, very strong comeback.

"Larks' Tongues in Aspic Part IV" is again excellent.  :)

The 3 CD live set "Heavy ConstruKction" kicks ass.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I personally really enjoyed the ProjeKcts album. The Live at Jazz Cafe album in particular was great. The Levin/Bruford duo is one of the greatest rhythmic units in rock history. King Crimson was never the same without them.

I don't listen to this kind of music anymore.  But, I never listened to much of the music (Metal, Prog Rock) being featured in this thread.

Pop is really a semi-musical outpost of showbiz, rather than being a musical genre like rock.

What about Abba? They are absolutely superb by every measurable standard of popular music. They are steadfastly pop and on their own would justify any argument for taking pop seriously as a genre.

I don't know about '90s music being the best, but there is certainly some of the best rock music ever performed to be found in that decade. It's like the pinnacle of what you can do with some guitars, drums, and a singer was achieved.

Yes, pop/rock music is less apt than classical to hold up under test-to-destruct listening!
