Needed a break.  I've returned with the resolution to avoid the Diner unconditionally, and to learn to ignore posters who think it is productive to post the same statement 100 times in a row because they feel that the first 99 times wasn't enough to get their point across.

Didn't notice you were gone.

I'm often a victim of the old "Someone is wrong on the internet" syndrome.  I think after a while you realize that nothing you have to say is going to budge most people from their opinions.

High praise, after Sarge's photo! : )
But that was a reminder of 30-year old news, Karl, and doesn't count.

That realization, is freedom itself.

Some five-year-olds may find that reference offensive...  ;)

Probably so.  8)

Glad you're back, but rethink the Diner.  It's a great place to realize how normal you are. :)

It also reinforces the maxim that the internet is serious business.

I find that ignoring certain posters, is a good thing to keep your sanity, and I am perfectly aware that quite a few posters are blocking me. But thats okay. :)

Harry - don't be concerned - plenty of us read your posts and love seeing the recent purchases!  :D

Scarpia - welcome back to  the 'zoo'!   ;) ;D   Dave

Welcome back, Scarpia.  I must admit that I didn't see that you were gone because I've also been absent due to vacation and other things.  :-[  But otherwise I'm sure I would have noticed.  :)

And to understand why the human world is so screwed up and getting worse fast!  Thank God for Classical music and the respite it provides!

I think most people are. I guess you can think of some threads that involve certain posters as a kind of cheap entertainment- like a Jerry Springer for us uppity classical folk.

Instead of "we have gathered 8 possible fathers here, and today we do a test of who is the real father," we have "if I were in power, I would ban atonal music and all rated R movies."

Too bad... you gonna miss a lot of food for thought...   :)

Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

The food-fight is no food for thought. Thinking is exactly what ain't happening.

Glad to see you back my friend and thrilled to learn your departure had nothing to do with my crazy antics. :D

It's probably wise to stay away from The Diner. I try to stay away from anything that isn't related to music.

Welcome back home, Scarpia!

I had a feeling it was only a temporary hiatus.  Happy to see you're back.

Thanks, although some have made it known that they don't feel the same.  If they had been more civil about it, their comments would still be here.   :P
