Both a sweeping and an offensive statement. If you have not grasped Saul's background, your reading of his material has indeed been superficial.

Mike
It was (I just read his latest post).

But I did say many times that Jesus was a false prophet. This has been the Jewish position for 2000 years, and it will stay this way forever, because the evidence and the facts that demonstrate Jesus to be a false prophet are categorical and extremely obvious.

I appreciate your candor.  Islam believes Jesus was a prophet.  However, Christians do not believe Jesus was a prophet of God, but is the Son of God, who is God himself.

No doubt there are many excellent Jewish arguments against the Christian understanding of Jesus, but I doubt many Christians would believe they are in error by arguing Jesus wasn't a prophet.  They would agree with you.

I never said that Christians believe that Jesus was a 'Prophet'. I said that we Jews believe that he was a 'False Prophet'.

And if you want a clear and organized explanations point by point with sources explaining the Jewish position please view these following vids, and once and for all, you will get the Jewish position on why Judaism considers Jesus to be a false prophet:

Absolutely fascinating Mike.  If you were, however, forced to put into words what was different after the wedding, is there a way you could describe it?  Can you expand on the way you felt more bound together?  Looking back, if you had gone to the registry instead of the church, would this binding have been as strong?  How did the marriage manifest itself during those tough times to prevent you from splitting?

Openly committing to someone is a beautiful thing.  And you are right that there are many couples who choose a different route.  What do you think the difference is between couples who decide to marry and those who do not need marriage, as you describe?  What does it mean to "need" marriage?  For those who do not need marriage, would marriage achieve something for them anyway?

LOL; so many questions! I will PM you.

But there are also things  God definately is not approving. Like homosexual relations ::)

You are fortunate that god has taken the trouble to explain to you what he does and does not approve of.   ::)

I do not agree.  What is it that you mean by "truth"? Many ways to truth? Do you mean things that are between you and you're conscious? But there are also things  God definately is not approving. Like homosexual relations ::)

You're now sounding like Saul, making definitive statements when there's nothing to back them up.

But perhaps I just don't have your inside information.  So please let me know how you're so sure that God disapproves of homosexual relations.

If you actually listen to the vids I provided, that assertion of yours will disappear.

It won't, I think you have tipped into evangelism. Time to move on and leave the field to others.

Well, Knight I didnt bring the topic of Jesus to the discussion. He asked and I answered. I have no problem with stopping talking about a topic that I didn't began.

Now there's the true "Christian" spirit, eh, folks?   :-[

Reminds me of the US Congressman during the '67 Arab-Israeli war that called upon both parties to resolve their issues "like Good Christians".

"Rabbi Achai says that an earthquake comes on the world as a result of homosexual practice. Blessed one the almighty declared that a
man shacked his organ on something that doesn't belong to him I swear
on his life that I will shake my world on that man".

Exactly how many homosexuals does it take to cause an earthquake? One? Ten? A million?

How many Yeshiva buchers does it take to change a light bulb? None, because the Torah does not mention light bulbs.  ;)

Thanks for your PM.  I read it, but I don't have time to respond right now, because I am in the middle of finishing my thesis.  You're story is very touching.  Thank you for sharing it with me.

I am interested in other's opinions though about marriage, especially from those who support gay marriage.  What is the meaning of marriage?  What does it achieve?

On the topic of strict interpretation of holy scripture:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/jewish-hardliners-crack-down-on-fun-in-israel-2047322.html
We live in a world that people who actually are listening to God's commandments are made fun of by the wicked, when the truth is that these people who follow God's word are loved by God. But we shall all see who will laugh in the end...

Deuteronomy Chapter 16 Verse 18:

Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which HaShem thy G-d giveth thee, tribe by tribe; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.
