Daffy says this thread is headed for lockdown. Oh, and you're despicable.
If it happens you caused it with your linking all degenerate music to the Nazi regime only.   And closing your mind to all forms of degenerate music which has gotten worse, especially in Rap and Rock after 1990.  Which is even worse than the degenerate music of the Second Viennese School.

If anyone is despicable it is you for defending degeneracy, maybe Daffy was talking to you and you misunderstood?

I don't consider any of the above types of music to be degenerate.  Actually, I do not recognize the term "degenerate music" to have any meaning or make any sense, although folks like Teresa use it to engage in one of their favorite pastimes - creating fantasies in Censorship Heaven.
Not all Rap, not all Rock, not all Classical, just the degenerate forms which are bad for society.

So you do not consider RAP MUSIC glorifying cop killing, murder for fun with the rape and torture of women degenerate?  You don't consider Rock music filled with curse words and blatant sexual content degenerate?  You don't consider ugly avant-garde non-music masquerading as real classical music degenerate?   Vocal works of this same ugly avant-garde non-music often have lyrics as bad as or worse than the worst Rap songs and you don't consider them degenerate?

If this is so and there are many like you, society has already been destroyed.

Wasn't somone muted recently for being too preachy?

I apply market forces to these kind of highly subjective things. If you don't like that kind of rap, rock or classical, simply don't buy it. If you don't like horror or violent films, don't go to see them. You're the customer, you have the right not to buy whatever you don't like. But the reason why I don't agree with such people advocating blanket censorship as it's a sign of the nanny state, controlling every aspect of our lives. It's ridiculous - Australia was one of these states until the early 1970's, when even novels like D.H.Lawrence's Lady Chatterley's Lover were banned. Booksellers were even frowned upon & questioned by the police for displaying a picture of Michelangelo's David in their shopfront windows. I for one don't want to go back to those days (although I wasn't around back then)...

Both the book and the 1955 film of Lady Chatterley's Lover starring Danielle Darrieux were banned in the United States.

The things that happen when the full moon is out and the mods are asleep. Teresa, you have expounded these views repeatedly. Just because people keep asking you does not mean you have to keep up the mantra.

Others, stop feeding the troll.

When this thread contained only the opening post Gurn predicted it would turn out this way. Took a while, but it happened. We have had a proliferation of topics that seem set up to cause an argument. Could we have a rest from any further ones for a while please?

Topic locked.
