Am I correct that there is not a continuing thread here on Baroque Keyboard music played on period instruments (expanding out from the Bach thread)?
Tonight I am listening to Lars Ulrik Mortensen's Buxtehude Harpsichord cycle. I'm finding it so enjoyable that it made me want to read a discussion of Baroque keyboard music in general (also seeing as how there is a great forum on of 'classical' music on GMG).
I wonder what people's favorite compositions and recordings are as well as why people love Rameau, F. Couperin, L. Couperin, Froberger, Scarlatti, Graupner, Handel, etc....

Well perhaps not specifically but we have these...

German Baroque music beyond Bach and Handel
Italian Baroque music beyond Vivaldi
French Baroque music
Sackbut's Baroque Burrow

I know you aren't wanting to stick with Bach in particular (thanks god for that!) but there is a very relevant and interesting thread called "Bach on the Clavichord, Lute-Harpsichord etc". Been a lot of contributions there that would interest a Baroque keyboard fan. Also, to add to DavidW's list, there is a thread started by Sonic Dave, which precise name I cannot remember, but it deals specifically with old instruments (The Antique Instrument Thread?? No, not exactly that) and also has lots of interesting info. :)

Thanks! I'll check out these threads. I always come back to the majestic mountain that is Bach. But I'll also enjoy looking at discussions of these other musical pleasures.
