That is a heart breaking story Satzaroo but no matter what you said or did, he may have still committed suicide at a later date. And I know that is no consolation at all.

About three years ago I was walking home & came across a young man hanging from a post with a cord round his neck. He wasn't too high off the ground & I managed to get him down. I called the paramedics & started CPR (learned at a basic First Aid course). The paramedics got him breathing properly & took him off to hospital.

I thought he might get in touch but also wondered if he could be angry with me for saving him. A few weeks later I found out he'd discharged himself from hospital and jumped off a bridge in front of a train.
